Image Science in Douglas/Sarpy Counties:
Extension recognizes the importance of STEM for youth. Our work with Imagine Science seeks to fill the pipeline of STEM careers. Imagine Science provides intensive, hands on learning for youth. Our camps are a minimum of 20 hours of direct STEM programming, and is completely free for the participants. We address the needs of the youth at highest risk, those youth that are unserved in STEM programming. We do so through our collective partnership with 4 effective youth development organizations: Douglas-Sarpy 4-H, Boys and Girls of the Midlands, Girls, Inc., and YMCA of Greater Omaha. In 2015, we reached a total of 2,529 youth. In the analysis of our efforts, youth that participated reported an increased interest in science as a potential career and an increased likelihood of engagement in STEM activities outside of school.
We look forward to making new friends on the Web:
